Al Kazemi Group marked a significant milestone with a grand opening ceremony at Sheikh Saad Terminal on January 20th 2017, to commemorate the launch of its inaugural direct flight connecting Kuwait and Baku. The event was attended by key representatives from Al Kazemi Group, Mr. Hasanov, Deputy Director and Head of the Sales Department, along with esteemed diplomats from the Embassy of Azerbaijan.
In his address, Mr. Ali Al Kazemi, Vice President & Deputy CEO of Al Kazemi Group, shared that, due to current winter weather conditions, the flight schedule includes one departure per month. He further announced that the next flight is scheduled to coincide with Kuwait’s National Day, with 60% of seats already booked. Looking ahead, Mr. Al Kazemi revealed plans to increase the frequency of flights to two per week during the summer months, contingent upon demand.
The exclusive travel package offers a comprehensive experience, including airfare, transportation, 5-star hotel accommodations, and a 4-night, 5-day guided tour, priced at a competitive KD 275. Notably, Kuwaiti citizens can obtain a visa on arrival in Azerbaijan, which is just a 1.5-hour flight away—roughly the same travel time as a flight from Kuwait to Dubai.
Mr. Ali Al Kazemi further emphasized Azerbaijan’s growing appeal as a tourist destination, highlighting its unique fusion of European and Asian cultural influences, as well as its scenic landscapes and luxury accommodations. He also noted that Azerbaijan’s successful hosting of international events, such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix—which will continue for the next five years positions the country as an attractive destination for both leisure and business travelers. Finally, he highlighted Azerbaijan’s affordability as a compelling alternative to many European destinations.
